Beneatha was dancing around the apartment by wearing the dress that Asagai bought her. Walter returned home and he was drunk. He “joined” Beneatha and Ruth looked on wearily. George arrived to pick up Beneatha. When he saw Beneatha took off her headdress and revealed her real hair, everyone was shocked and disappointed. Then, George and Beneatha started to argue about the African heritage. Later, Walter wanted to talk about the business plan with George, but George seemed not interested in this. Then George and Beneatha left. Ruth fight with Walter about he spending money, making friends like Willy Harris and so on. It seemed like they have distance to each other. Mama came back and said she made a down payment for a new house. But the house is located in Clybourne Park. She mentioned that is the only house she can afford. Ruth was happy about this. Walter was disappointed because he wanted to use the money to start business. Now he has no money to do this. Mama was happy about to buy this house because she wants the whole family to be together. But when she knew that Walter is not happy, she feels guilty to Walter.
