Act 3

Act 3 Younger’s family decided to move. Walter was sitting there and everyone was unhappy. Asagai came to help with packaging. Beneatha was questioning her thoughts of being a doctor. She did not believe she can help people. She did not want to talk about equality for African-American anymore. She started to complain and concern about human misery. Asagai told Beneatha that he wanted to go back to Africa and help people. He asked Beneatha to go back together, but Beneatha was not enthusiasm. Asagai left then. Walter was running from the bedroom and talked to Beneatha. Then he called Mr.Linder to invite him back to his apartment. Beneatha said Walter is not her brother anymore, but Mama still loves him. Later, Mr.Linder arrived. Walter talked to him powerfully and he said they are going to move to a new house. Mama was proud of Walter since he finally stands up to face Mr.Linder. Ruths agreed as well. Mama brought  her plant with her and then left as the last person.

Amy Yang Mamma Mia review IB Lit&Perf SL Ms.Guarino The review of Mamma Mia On February 26 2020, I watched a musical, “ Mamma Mia ” in the Black Box at Cheshire Academy. “ Mamma Mia” is a musical written by playwright Catherine Johnson. The director of school musical is Ms.Guarino. The main actors are Elena, Audra, Olivia, Jane, Jackson, Tony and Nate. This production talks about a young pretty bride-to-be, Sophie, invited three men to her upcoming wedding, each of whom has possibility to be her father. Sophie was dreaming a perfect wedding which includes her father giving her way. Her mom Donna did not want to talk about the past, so Sophie decided to find out her father by inviting three possible men to her wedding. The show is exhilarating and irresistibly joyful! There are many profoundly significant themes being explored. In my perspectives, I think the play was talking about the bonds between old friends and showing families.  First of all, during the wh...

During an evening time, Beneatha and George came back to home and sat on the couch. George wanted to kiss Beneatha but Beneatha did not want to kiss him. She wanted to have a conversation with George. George was still annoying so Beneatha kicked him out. Mama came back and Beneatha complained to Mama and she said George is a fool. Mama told her do not waste time with a fool. Beneatha was happy about Mama’s support and understanding. Then, Mrs.Johnson came to visit. She is Younger’s neighbor. Mama asked Ruth to give some food and drink to Mrs.Johnson and she accepted. She was here to tell Mama that there was a black family’s home was bombed out by a white-neighbor. She called them”color folks”. She mentioned a famous African-American thinker. Mama was upset. Then Mrs. Johnson left. Ruth was told that Walter did not go to work for three days by the call of Walter’s boss. She asked Walter to explain why. Walter said he was thinking all day and drinking all night. He felt his job was not ...

Act 2, scene 1

Act 2, scene 1 Beneatha was dancing around the apartment by wearing the dress that Asagai bought her. Walter returned home and he was drunk. He “joined” Beneatha and Ruth looked on wearily. George arrived to pick up Beneatha. When he saw Beneatha took off her headdress and revealed her real hair, everyone was shocked and disappointed. Then, George and Beneatha started to argue about the African heritage. Later, Walter wanted to talk about the business plan with George, but George seemed not interested in this. Then George and Beneatha left. Ruth fight with Walter about he spending money, making friends like Willy Harris and so on. It seemed like they have distance to each other. Mama came back and said she made a down payment for a new house. But the house is located in Clybourne Park. She mentioned that is the only house she can afford. Ruth was happy about this.
