In-class writing

1.What was your vision as a director/creator for this project?
My vision for this project is to express my own feeling because this story relates to my experience in my life and transfer it to a drama presenting by pictures.

2. What elements of the original story did you maintain in your project?
I maintain the climax in my story. The brother has similar reaction as Ms.Mallard when he saw his sister still alive. He dislikes his sister in the way of Ms.Mallard dislikes her husband. So they were all happy when they knew their relatives died.

3. What did you change about the original story in your project?
Basically, my story happened between a brother and a sister. The original story happened between a wife and a husband. I have a different ending with the original story. The wife was died in the original story, but I have a happy ending in my story.

4. What is the twist or climax of your adaptation?
My climax/twist is that when brother knew his sister dead, he was a little bit sad at first and then became very happy. And then his sister came back home, he was shocked and mixture of emotion.

5. What is the strongest part of your project so far?
I got some supports from my dorm so I have some stage pictures already. My strongest part probably is that I already figured out all scripts for the pictures.

6. What is the weakest part of your project so far?
I’m still confused about the music so far. I have no idea what kind of music should I add in my stage pictures. But I will figure it out.

7. How has this project helped you learn about how stories work?
This story helped me learn how to separate the scene in a story. Basically I learned about setting plots, pivotal moments, climax/twist and resolution.

8. How has this project helped you learn how theater works?

This is a stage picture, so the most important part is that I need to let audience know what this picture means, and overall audiences should have a sense of what the story is about. Therefore, the emotion and details of each picture becomes really necessary. When I prepare the pivotal moments, I have a picture in my mind that shows me what the emotion of the character right now.
