Taking notes of two poems
Q: what is interesting? what do you think is happening? what are some lines or phrases that sound nice or capture your attention? what is the feel or emotion of the poems? 

Seize the day by Carpe Diem
I like this poem not only because its beautiful lines but also positive attitude to everyday. The author encourage everyone to embrace their life, to enjoy everyday, every minute in their life. There are some lines that capture my attention, like “Step outside and breathe deeply. Be surprised by nature that shares your world of giant steps. Have a place and a time to sit with your thoughts.” and so on. Those sentences are the first sentence of each paragraph, which is a really attractive opening, because it makes people want to read more to find out why the author things like this way. When I read this poem, I feel it’s positive and give me energy.

Introduction to Poetry by Billy Collins

This poem has really deep meaning, so I did not understand at the first time. Actually, I still feel a little bit confused. But I can get some points in the poem, such as “I say drop a mouse into a poem and watch him probe his way out, or walk inside the poem’s room and feel the walls for a light switch.” Both two examples mean the they want to find the meaning of poem, or at least they want to figure out something about the poem. It makes me confused this poem, but it is interesting.

Act 3 Younger’s family decided to move. Walter was sitting there and everyone was unhappy. Asagai came to help with packaging. Beneatha was questioning her thoughts of being a doctor. She did not believe she can help people. She did not want to talk about equality for African-American anymore. She started to complain and concern about human misery. Asagai told Beneatha that he wanted to go back to Africa and help people. He asked Beneatha to go back together, but Beneatha was not enthusiasm. Asagai left then. Walter was running from the bedroom and talked to Beneatha. Then he called Mr.Linder to invite him back to his apartment. Beneatha said Walter is not her brother anymore, but Mama still loves him. Later, Mr.Linder arrived. Walter talked to him powerfully and he said they are going to move to a new house. Mama was proud of Walter since he finally stands up to face Mr.Linder. Ruths agreed as well. Mama brought  her plant with her and then left as the last person.

Adaptation 1.genre Drama 2.characters Johnson’s family: dad Mrs.Johnson, mom Mr.Johnson, daughter Fiona, son Jason 3.settings All happened on a rainy day in 2013 Winter. Fiona and Jason don’t like each other. They both thought that if they didn't have one another, s/he would be the only child in the family and would have all the love of his/her parents. 4.plot Mr.Johnson, Mrs.Johnson and Jason are having dinner together at home. Fiona is doing her art project in school and she texts her mom that she will back home late. Jason is complaining that Fiona got 40 dollars from their parents and it was given as award for getting A on math test two days before. Jason did not get this award so he feels unhappy. Then Mr.Johnson got a call from hospital. The man on the phone said “your daughter was hit by a car and now is in the emergency room!” Then, Mr.Johnson and Mrs.Johnson ran straight out of the house and drove to the hospital.
